UNIT OF LEARNING - find inspiration

As an art teacher, I love coming up with new and exciting ideas for my students. However, sometimes it can be challenging to find inspiration, especially when I'm trying to incorporate other subjects and create a sense of community within the school.

One of the best ways I find inspiration is by looking at the world around me. I take walks in nature, visit museums and galleries, and attend local events to see what's happening in my community. This helps me to see new coloUrs, shapes, and patterns that I can use in my artwork and share with my students.

Another way I find inspiration is by collaborating with other teachers. I work with the science teacher to teach our students about the natural world, or with the history teacher to explore art movements throughout history. This not only helps me to incorporate cross-curricular concepts, but it also builds a sense of community within the school.

Sometimes, I find inspiration by looking to my students themselves. I ask them what they're interested in and what they want to learn. I've had students who love animals, so we've created artwork inspired by nature, and others who love video games, so we've incorporated video game design into our lessons.

Lastly, I find inspiration by experimenting with new materials and techniques. I try out different mediums and tools to see what I can create, and then I share my discoveries with my students. This encourages them to try new things and explore their creativity.

In conclusion, finding inspiration for your unit of learning in art class can be challenging, but it can also be incredibly rewarding. By looking at the world around you, collaborating with other teachers, listening to your students, and experimenting with new materials, you can create an engaging and meaningful learning experience for your students.
