My dissertation centers around the concept of site learning in the context of art education and its potential to impact student motivation and inspiration in the art classroom. By investigating the efficacy of site learning, I hope to uncover new insights and perspectives on how it can be utilized to enrich students' artistic abilities and deepen their engagement with art.
Through my research, I will be examining the theoretical underpinnings of site learning, including its benefits for student learning and development. Additionally, I plan to conduct an empirical study to analyze the impact of site learning on student motivation and inspiration, taking into account factors such as age, gender, and prior experience with art.
Overall, my dissertation seeks to expand our understanding of the role that site learning can play in art education, providing educators with new tools and approaches to enhance their students' creativity and passion for art.
The image I have chosen displays the concept that curriculum, textbooks, and teaching methods need to be revised to keep them free of gender stereotypes, in relation to single sex schools.

Approaching the structure of the reflective process was challenging to me at first. I was struggling and finding it diffi- cult to make sense of my professional practice experiences and the way I act in context. I decided to use the taking up membership approach to help me with my journey. Using this approach describing (What do I do?) informing (What does this mean?), confronting (How did I come to be like this?), and reconstructing (How might I do things different- ly?) as a reflection on my journey to find my own path toward professional growth and satisfaction through a careful study of my experiences in teaching in senior cycle 5th years class of 9 students.
The theme for my unit of learning I selected with my class was called Belonging. The project ran for 5 weeks over 12 classes. I was aware the theme was of a sensitive nature and to create a comfortable learning
environment for my students to harness their inquiry by exploring answers to their own questions I exposed myself and went on the journey of belonging with them
CHANGE LAB 2022
Having been involved in The Change Lab, I can attest that it was an incredible experience to be a part of. Collaborating with other student teachers to create a body of work that critically examined social injustices and unsustainable practices was both empowering and inspiring.
The Change Lab had a profound impact on me, instilling a strong sense of commitment to teach for social justice and sustainability that I continue to carry with me in my teaching practice. Approaching teaching through the lens of my practice as an artist-researcher has allowed me to bring a unique perspective and approach to my work as an educator.
Overall, The Change Lab was an invaluable part of my education and professional development, and I am grateful for the opportunity to have been involved in it.
